DID I DO GOOD ?

opps I think I might have helped the American economy some, with all the craft goodies I brought while I was on vacation over there for 7 weeks.
Home again now - still adjusting to the jet lag from the 16 hour flight back from St Louis.
Had a wonderful wonderful time with special friends - lots of lasting memories made.

IT'S BEEN A WHILE

I know its been awhile since I posted anything - STILL IN THE USA - sadly will be heading home next week.
Have had an amazing time with friends and done a lot of travelling and even more SPENDING money on craft supplies lol.
So no excuses once I get settled back in at home for making some cards and other paper craft related projects to share with you all.
So give me a week or so after I get back to unpack, organise my new supplies (hehe try to squeeze them into my small craft room more likely haha) and then watch this space - for some artwork!!!

GREETINGS FROM LOS ANGELES

Greetings from SUNNY, WARM Los Angeles. Got to LOVE this summer weather !!!!
We arrived here in LA yesterday after a 12 hour flight from New Zealand. Will take a little while to get used to the time difference and the time zone will change again by 2 hours tomorrow when we fly to St Louis.
Today we are off to Universal Studios for the day.

ONE WEEK TO GO !

No art to share this time round. But wanted to pop in to say ONE WEEK TO GO! In a weeks time we will be up in the air on a plane heading to LA!! Having a couple of days in LA then onto St Louis MO then to Bear Lake in PA; a few days in New York and then back to St Louis - then home - will be away approximately 7 weeks !!!
Lots to get done before we go away this week but getting excited all ready.

SETTLING IN ....

Slowly but surely settling in to our new home. And loving it amongst the chaos (smiles)

Craft studio is getting organised and I can't wait to be able to take some time out from the unpacking and organising to create some art - hopefully very soon !

Just saw on my blog counter its 38 days till our vacation in the States - woohoo - can not wait to be back there again!

ROOM WITH A VIEW

Yes we are on the move AGAIN - after living here on the farm for the past year (which we have loved) , my yearning to live near to the sea again has been the catalyst to us finding a coastal rental property. The photo is taken from the upstairs master bedroom. We will be moving at the beginning of May.

The house is a lot smaller than the one we are living in here at the farm - so drastic decluttering measures have been called for - but surprisingly enough, getting rid of a lot of "stuff" we have been moving around with us over the years, has been very freeing and made me realise "stuff" does not make a house a home!

The spare room which will become my craft studio is not big enough for both a spare bed and my craft table so getting my priorities right (smiles), the spare bed has to go.

Also counting down to our vacation to the States - can't wait to renew special friendships which were cemented 2 years ago. We leave mid June and won't return to New Zealand till beginning of August.

With moving, art is taking a bit of a back seat at the moment - but my craft studio will be one of the first rooms to be set up and the internet connection will be up and running asap too.

WHAT I WILL BE DOING ON SUNDAY

EDIT TO POST - Monday 6 April - Yesterday went well - lots of wristbands sold. It was a priviledge and awesome experience to help out. The Warriors lost the game against the Rabbitohs but the atmosphere at the game was amazing.

I will be attending the NZ Warriors rugby league game against the South Sydney Rabbitohs on Sunday.
The match will be a tribute to promising Warrior Sonny Fai, who would have turned 21 a fortnight ago, is presumed drowned after going missing while rescuing his brother and cousins at a west Auckland beach in early January.

Warriors v Rabbitohs game

It's a big weekend in another sense. It's a celebration of Sonny Fai's life and culture, with some great performances, musical and cultural lined up. It will be a special day, and fans should get along to make some noise for the boys, and to show the Fai family how much the league community thinks of their selfless son. Outside the stadium, there will be some fans selling Sonny Fai wristbands. This is a fan driven initiative, and all proceeds are going to the Fai family, so it's a great cause. There will be 10,000 of them on sale, and if it's anything like the last batch, they'll sell like hotcakes. The Warriors themselves wear them, so do many of the other NRL teams, players like Issac Luke and Krisnan Inu wearing them proudly, even Russell Crowe's got one. Show you support, and get one for yourself.I've been leaning towards a Rabbitohs upset here, they're at near full strength and the Warriors are up against it personnel wise. But I'm going to let myself be driven by my heart here, putting my hand up for a purely emotional pick. I think the Sonny celebrations could inspire them to victory, it would a wonderful way to cap the day.

My husband, son and I have all volunteered to sell the wristbands on Sunday. I am proud to be doing this and hope they raise LOTS of money for the family and sell all the 10,000 wristbands.
