I WISH ......

Each week over at the IDidItCreations forum in the Altered Arts group, I am giving them a prompt for everyone who wants to, to do a page in their art journals. This weeks prompt is I WISH ....
This page came together very quickly and I didnt pre-plan what journalling I was going to do.
The resultant page just evolved from listening to my heart not my head <soft smiles>

And lots of challenges, games and fun stuff happening all weekend.

I am hosting a Colour Challenge over on the I Did It Creations forum, so hope you will come join in. You can create a Card, Layout or whatever you want to but you must use the colour combo of green and purple.

Heres the card I made - its a Greeting Farm freebie digi image which I coloured with copic markers, layered on to a nestabilities oval cut out on my cuttlebug; combined with two lots of patterned paper and base green cardstock; some purple and green ribbon and lacy border made using a Martha Stewart punch. All finished off with a stamped saying of Hugs and Hearts.

Hope to see you there !!

JOURNAL PAGES

Getting back in to my journalling again - I needed to realise it's ok to journal on negatives as well as positives and it's a great way to channel my feelings and gives me clarity on a lot of things too.
Heres some journal pages from the last few weeks on lots of different things.

PAINTED BACKGROUNDS

Recently in my blog and web site hopping I came across a great mixed media web site called Mixed Media Art
One of the projects there is on painted backgrounds. Looked and sounded like FUN so I decided to make some time on the weekend and have a play and below are three examples of my "playtime". I really enjoyed making them and will definitely be experimenting more with the technique. Think I will print these scanned backgrounds out and then I can cut them up and use them on cards, ATCs, in my altered books and journal pages also.

The Pink Elephant Challenge #58 - Spring theme

The theme for this weeks challenge over at the Pink Elephant Challenge blog is SPRING.
http://thepinkelephantchallenge.blogspot.com/2010/03/pink-elephant-challenge-58.html

Sure wish we were coming into spring here in Australia instead of fall although we are still experiencing quite high temperatures here right now so I shouldnt complain just yet.

I really had fun making this diamond fold card (once I figured out which fold went where hehe) and I can see myself making lots more of these type of cards.

(got to love the swiss dots embossing folder) . Attached a strip of purple and white stitched ribbon below that. Finished it off with the hugs and kisses stamped saying also edged in purple and then the purple stripped patterned paper - affixed that to the card with pop dots.

RF WEEKLY CHALLENGE

You may use any RF digi image/ hybrid sticker.
The winning creation will receive 3 images of their choosing.

Please leave a link to your challenge creation in the comments section on the Challenge blog - linking directly to your creation (not just your blog)
I decided this week to keep the summer weather around here for just a little longer - alas autumn (fall) and then winter is on its way "down under" in Australia and New Zealand" - by making a framed picture from one of Robyn's gorgeous garden themed digis.

The image is coloured with copic markers and then matted onto green textured cardstock to create a frame. Then I punched out lots of flowers in three different colours and sizes to co-ordinate with the flowers in the digi image. Layered the flowers together with liquid clear glue and placed then around the image using foam tape. Finished it all off with a hanger made of purple ribbon.
The digi image is available over at the shop - its called Matty in the garden

Make sure you go check out the other Design Team members creations (links on the sidebar) and browse through the wonderful images for sale over at the Shop.
